We are thrilled to announce the renewal of our partnership with Marks & Spencer (M&S) for another three years. Having worked with them since 2021, we will be continuing to support them in tackling food waste through our cloud-based, WasteInsight solution.
Marks & Spencer, a cornerstone of British retail, operates over 1,000 stores in the UK on top of well known franchises like WH Smith and Moto. Renowned for its high-quality food, clothing, and home products, M&S has consistently been at the forefront of retail innovation and customer satisfaction.
A core part of their brand identity is sustainability, and this is encapsulated in their Plan A initiative, which aims to make M&S a net zero business across their entire value chain by 2040. This initiative focuses on responsible sourcing, reducing carbon emissions, and minimizing waste, reflecting M&S’s dedication to protecting the planet for future generations.
To support their efforts, WasteInsight has been instrumental in delivering a dynamic markdown strategy designed to reduce waste and increase sell-through.
“Our collaboration with Retail Insight over the past three years has been incredibly impactful,” said Chris Thomas, Head of Product for Store Operations at Marks & Spencer. “The WasteInsight solution has delivered significant waste reduction benefits over the past three years, as well as improved overall operational efficiency. We look forward to continuing to work with the team to help us meet our net zero targets.”
By analysing foundational retail data, WasteInsight is able to utilise a machine learning model to provide dynamic markdown prices designed to encourage sales. Not only does this provide value to both the customer and M&S but the retailer is able to ensure a reduction in food waste.
“We are excited to extend our partnership with Marks & Spencer for another three years,” said Kieran O’Brien, VP of Customer Success - EMEA at Retail Insight. “Our close working relationship has been pivotal in enabling success and we will continue to drive down waste and enhance efficiency across their stores.”
At Retail Insight, we are proud of the strong relationship we have built with Marks & Spencer and are committed to delivering innovative solutions that drive success. This renewed contract is a testament to the value and impact of our WasteInsight product, and we are excited about the future of our partnership.
