This year, RI’s female presence has become stronger and they were extremely proud to celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March.
A presentation was put together by some of the ladies of RI, and it included a quiz with very interesting facts about the struggles that women are faced with today, statistics as well as images of strong females that have helped shape the world. The presentation certainly raised awareness and demonstrated how far women have come in history.
Additionally, it was announced that RI have become signatories for Talent Tech Charter (TCC) which is a commitment by organisations to a set of undertakings that aim to deliver greater diversity in the tech workforce of the UK, one that better reflects the make-up of the population. Signatories of the charter make a number of pledges in relation to their approach to recruitment and retention. Although it is very much an employer-led initiative, in March 2017 the TTC was supported in the government’s policy paper on the UK Digital Strategy.
At the end of the presentation, all staff members were gifted with a book by Kate Pankhurst, which has written a collection of great women books. This is an opportunity to make an impact on the next generation and we are proud that RI is helping to make a difference.
