We are thrilled to announce the renewal of our WasteInsight contract with Lincolnshire Co-operative for another four years.

Lincolnshire Co-op is one of the most successful independent consumer co‑operatives in the UK, offering a wide range of services from their family of businesses. Owned by it’s 300,000 members, Lincolnshire Co-op has been serving its communities for over 160 years.

Since 2021, our WasteInsight platform has proven to be an invaluable tool for Lincolnshire Co-op in their efforts to reduce food waste. With its advanced features and user-friendly interface, our platform has helped them streamline their waste management processes and maximize their sustainability efforts.

"Working with Lincolnshire Co-op has been a great experience, and we are thrilled to continue supporting them in their journey towards reducing food waste,” said Jessica Westwell, Customer Success Manager, Retail Insight. “The contract extension is a testament to the success of our WasteInsight platform and the positive impact it has had on their operations."

Our cloud-based software solution, WasteInsight, ensures that Lincolnshire Co-op are able to optimize their price reductions using a dynamic, data-led model.

They also leverage the first version of our waste trim feature which analyzes historical data, sales patterns, and expiration dates to highlight products or ranges that are regularly wasted. By utilizing this feature, Lincolnshire Co-op has been able to minimize overstocking and reduce the amount of food that goes to waste. As part of the contract renewal we will be working together to implement an enhanced version of our Waste Trim tool to further expand on the benefits we provide.

"The WasteInsight platform has been instrumental in our efforts to reduce food waste,” said Craig Adamson, Head of Food at Lincolnshire Co-op. “Retail Insight’s Waste Trim feature will help  revolutionize our approach to inventory management and has significantly contributed to our sustainability goals. We look forward to realizing further benefits with the enhanced version of the tool.”

Thanks to a sell-through rate of 90.8% achieved in 2023, our WasteInsight platform has resulted in a number of significant outcomes:

  • 2.1 million meals have been avoided from being wasted, preventing unnecessary food loss and ensuring that more people have access to nutritious meals.
  • 5,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been prevented, contributing to the fight against climate change and promoting a more sustainable future.

These impressive figures demonstrate the power of data-driven waste management and the importance of our WasteInsight platform in driving positive change.
